When spending $1500+ I didn’t want a machine that was going to break down after a few months. I have now had this machine for about 6 months and have had no problems except a minor one explained below.

First the good
Very easy set up. I was up and going in about 30 minutes after opening the box and making sure all the parts and pieces were included.

The machine is pretty idiot proof. It tells you when to add water, when to add coffee beans, when to run the cleaning cycle, when to decalcify, and when to dispose the used grounds. The burr grinder is fairly quiet and has run without clogging. You do have to be careful not to use beans that are too oily but if they are all you have to do is let them sit for about 5 hours before using. The water capacity is very adequate at 70 oz. The bean hopper holds about 1/4 lb of beans so you don’t have to keep adding. There is no way to empty beans to add a different type, however there is a place for ground beans if someone want a different type. I like that you can change the height of the two nozzles for different height mugs and being able to separate the nozzles for brewing two cups at the same time. Cleaning is a snap. Just slide out the empty grounds tray, rinse and replace.

I like that you customize each button on the face of the machine (see below) and you can easily override how much coffee or water you use for a single use without losing the programmed amount.

Finally customer service, something important for such an expensive machine. When I registered the machine on line (and you have to do this in 2 weeks to get the warranty) I mistyped the serial number. The next day I got an email informing me of my error. Nice. Also, my mother got one of these for my father and one of the nozzles was not working properly. He called them up and they told him what to do. The nozzle was blocked and just needed to be wiped clean. My parents have well water that they bi-pass to some of their faucets. The machine comes with one water test strip to test for water hardness. When he called he asked them to send a few more and they did. Not that big a deal for them, but they did it.

Next the okay
The six buttons on the face of the machine for water, steam, 1 or 2 cups of espresso and 1 or 2 cups of coffee, are very easy. Not so easy is using the buttons on the top of the machine. These buttons work like folders on a computer and it is easy to forget where you are. These buttons are used to “customize” what comes out (heat, strength, amount per cup, language, auto on and off).
Every time you turn the machine on you need to rinse the nozzles (push a button and it runs about 1 oz of hot water through the nozzles), this is okay but you have to do it even if you just used hot water the last time. The full cleaning cycle is based on the number of rinses so if you use the machine for hot water you will end up using the cleaning cycle more than necessary. The machine also automatically rinses when it goes into sleep mode so I put a shot glass under the nozzles after use. Not a big deal, if I forget the water goes into a collection tray.

Finally the bad
There are two ways to make steam and froth. Without going into details, one of these is an attachment that doesn’t stay on very well due to the high pressure of the steam. When it comes off steam sprays all over until you push the steam button again. This happened to me a few times and while it did not burn me, it is quite a surprise. I just do it the other way

Overall a positive experience and I would recommend to family and friend.

Hook-up of the plumbed-in water supply was a breeze, but I have done a lot of plumbing work. You will either needs skills with running copper pipe or PEX tubing if you want to install it yourself. Or hire a plumber.

Miele CVA4066SS 24 Built-in Whole Coffee Bean System with Plumbed-In Water Connection

Miele makes a couple of non-plumbed versions if you don’t want a permanent installation. However, these types of machines are meant to be built-in to cabinetry so my advice is to buy the plumbed in version to eliminate the hassle of having to remove the water tank and manually fill it every day or so. If you are spending about $3,000 for one of these, spend the extra few dollars for the plumbing.

In terms of electrical, it does not draw so much current that you must have a dedicated circuit for it. If your existing circuit is almost fully loaded, you may need a new circuit. I just plugged it into an existing outlet, and so far (4 – 5 months of operation) no popped breakers so it should be fine on the circuit it is on. Consult an electrician for your situation.

I installed this as part of a kitchen remodel in my home, and so could build a custom cabinet for this to go into. One thing to note is that it requires a 24″ deep cabinet. Standard wall (upper) cabinets are 12″ deep, so this will not fit there. It needs to go into the same type of cabinet (depth-wise) as an oven or built-in refrigerator. I dedicated a 24″ wide, 24″ deep, and 96″ high cabinet for this, with a wine cooler underneath and a regular cabinet above. That resulted in a mounting height that is about perfect. Much lower, and you would have to stoop over to get to it. Much higher and it would be dangerous, i.e.- very hot liquids and/or steam at eye-level. You would not want to mount this in a standard wall cabinet since it would be too high. Standard wall cabinets are mounted about 18″ above counter height, at close to eye level. You want this in the rough vicinity of counter top height. You could install it into a wider cabinet, as long as it was 24″ deep. I spent a paragraph on that since you will really need to think through how you are going to install it since it is meant to be built in in a fairly standard way (narrow range of options), and not all existing kitchens may accommodate that design.

The seller (evVive Home) was very helpful, and I am pleased with purchasing from them.

In terms of daily operation, it is a little more work than I was expecting. It has a waste container into which the used grounds are deposited after each cup of coffee. The machine seems to have a timer that requests that you empty the container every other day. If you have this machine installed in a small office, that makes sense as the container would fill up pretty fast. But for the homeowner, it probably needs emptied once a week or less, and even then it would not be full.

The machine has a milk flask (like a thermos) for cappuccino, etc. This seemed like a good idea, and it works great. The problem comes in cleaning the tubes, which needs to be done at LEAST daily. Spoiled milk will make a person very ill, so this is critical cleaning step. The machine has a special rinse cycle for accomplishing this. It just takes a while, has to be done frequently, and requires a person to be present while it is going on. It is not like the regular automatic rinse cycle that requires no human involvement. It is enough of a hassle that I might only have a latte on the weekend when I can devote the time to the cleaning. During the week, I just dump a couple of espresso shots into microwaved milk.

The machine also has to have a weekly cleaning done too. I will admit I am lazy and only do this every few weeks, but it is also a little work. There are a few parts that have to be removed, but the mostly just slide out, no tools required. But you do have to get in there and clean a lot of small spaces.

All-in-all, it is a bit more work than expected, but I may have had unrealistic expectations. It isn’t THAT much work, really.

In summary, I am very pleased with the machine and would highly recommend it.

Unboxing the product is your first clue to the level of detail the manufacturer paid to the product experience. As is custom with Gaggia products, this machine was designed and built at the Milan factory — something that will not escape you from the early moments of opening the box. Once the shipping box is opened, you simply remove the outer box to reveal the inside box, which has two convenient long handles to make it easy for you to lift the machine out of the shipping box. Inside, the sealed inner box contains your unit, with prominent serial number markings on the inner box and the “Made in Milan, Italy” (naturally in Italian) stamped proudly.

Gaggia Accademia Espresso Machine

You’ll be surprised with the highly durable construction, in particular, the stainless steel finish which seems to be impervious to finger prints in my usage so far — and the high quality hinges that reveal the inner workings of the machine: the brew group, drip tray, and grounds drawer. One unique feature of this machine is that the brew group is fully removable for easy maintenance and cleaning. Given that o-rings over time will break down and are a common service issue on home machines from other manufacturers, the ability to self maintain in your kitchen without needing to pull the machine out or remove it to another location is a plus. Maintenance kits for the o-rings can be found for as little as $9.99.

The manuals are well written and the menu system is intuitive and easy to use. Brew strength can be varied with a simple dial on the front of the machine, and individual settings for each beverage, including coffee quantity, volume, temperature, and milk froth settings, if applicable, can be specified. There’s also a coffee chute for pre-ground coffee should you chose to use some for a particular beverage instead of the beans. This gets to the main strength of this machine: it’s completely configurable. Many people gravitate to manual machines due to the lack of control over the Espresso pull; this machine not only lets you program it, you can change it easily before every cup without needing to descend into tons of on-screen menus.

The milk carafe is a fabulous feature — and it’s zero mess. You simply pop it in, move the arm over the cup, and select the beverage you want. When you’re done making milk beverages, you return the arm to the middle position which activates a steam rinse feature that flushes the milk circuit with steam for cleanliness. Simply remove the carafe to the fridge for safe keeping until your next cleaning!

Another feature of the adjustable brew center is that it can be removed for exceptionally tall cups. Nice for those tall cups in the morning on the way to work!

Since energy consumption is on everybody’s mind these days, the unit features a double boiler (one for the brew group, and one for the milk circuit.) There’s an optional ECO mode which will automatically power down the milk circuit when not in use — simply call-up the machine’s settings to activate the feature. Furthermore, the unit features an adjustable auto-standby feature which will put the unit into standby mode drawing less than a watt of power.

I couldn’t be happier with my unit. The coffee taste, strength, and temperature are perfect. The adjustments are virtually unlimited and you can achieve precisely the results you want consistently. A great appliance for any coffee lover’s kitchen!

I’ve traded up from a super crappy thin-twin stackable washer and dryer set, and let me tell you, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I read tons of reviews before I settled on this washer. One of the major complaints that most people talk about is how long it takes to dry, but I’ve found that it doesn’t take any longer than a regular set, unless you’re one of those people who sits and waits for the dryer to buzz. Personally, I stick my laundry in and forget about it for a few hours, and when I’m ready to think about it again…poof!…it’s all clean. One other thing people talked about was that they didn’t feel like their clothes were dry when they took them out. Because of the way the dryer works, there is steam left over at the end of the cycle. Once the dryer cools (it locks you out until the tub is cool enough to touch to keep you from getting burned) you take our your clothes, give them a quick shake, and they go from a little damp feeling to warm and dry. It’s like a little miracle every time you do laundry.

LG 3.6 CF Front Load Washer Dryer Combo

I’ve had to get used to the way the machine sounds. It’s not a constant hum, but a series of on and off cycles. I assume it’s because it’s supper energy efficient and its only drawing power when it needs to turn.

That’s another really awesome thing about this machine…it runs on a regular outlet plug. Also the “Direct Drive” motor turns the tub directly, instead of through a series of belts, which means you’ll never have to worry about replacing them.

Oh and another thing!!!! I had a shirt that I wore outside to do heavy gardening and yard work. It’s been stained and dirty for more than a year, no matter how many times I’ve washed it. One trip through this new washer and it’s as good as new! I use “Charlie’s Soap” which is HE compatible, and only use 2/3′s of a scoop. So little soap for such clean clothes!!!

I’ve only had the washer a few weeks, but so far so good. I”m really pleased.

Go into the Breville. Many years ahead with thoughtful engineering. Just like I appreciate my dryer door that opens north/south, the Breville includes a handle that runs the size of the oven to help keep spills/crumbs from the counter. The detachable crumb tray and combo baking pan/broiling tray really are a dream to wash.

I’ve only had this refurbished product for around per week. The product showed up without dents: the rack, the broiling pan, and also the oven made an appearance in pristine condition. The literature was not read. All products, aside from the oven itself, were within the original manufacturer’s packaging.

As the toast does seem to be more dark on a single side compared to other, the toast is perfectly done. After I am creating a BLT, I only am worried about one side–the sunshine side will get the mayonnaise. I have tried personally the oven every single day–perfect baked taters, roasting brussel spouts, roast butternut squash, warmed French baguettes, and several kinds of toast (French, semolina, artisan sourdough, etc). I’ve not had time for you to make use of the pizza, broiler along with other configurations, but expect excellent results.

This oven is much more convenient and saving than my large oven for the now empty nest family. I additionally love not needing to bend to remove hot products in the oven.

I’d appreciate seeing an inside light later on models.

The Breville BOV650XL Smart Oven is really a handy small appliance for that kitchen and it is an item that provides many enhancements when in comparison towards the typical toaster oven. With this particular appliance, customers obtain a toaster oven with several exterior controls, enhanced technology, along with a backlit Liquid crystal display, all combined within an attractive package that appears nice of all any kitchen counter top.

Breville BOV650XL Compact 4-Slice Smart Oven with Element IQ

Aside from the outdoors appearance, this oven offers a number of other features making it much better than the typical toaster oven. The oven comes including a wire rack and baking pan. This wouldn’t appear just like a large deal, because so many toaster ovens have features such as this, however the difference would be that the rack and pan offered with this particular oven tend to be stronger and quality than individuals present in other toaster ovens. With a few of the cheaper toaster ovens, the incorporated shelves and pans are flimsy in design and never created to last. These add-ons, however, are made to last.

So, the add-ons and exterior choices are nice, but how about the cooking ability? The Breville BOV650XL Smart Oven has el born area covered too. If among the preset options can be used, the oven takes note of the setting and cooks much the same way, for perfect food each time. I love by using this oven for bagels above all else, but it’s extremely handy for warming up garlic clove bread, regular toast, muffins, along with other products. The toasting is way better than what you’ll get if you use a typical toaster since it toasts more evenly.

There’s one potential problem when utilizing an oven such as this, which is its inclination to lose or overcook food. As this oven is compact, the warmth energy is much better concentrated and therefore it cooks food faster than the usual large oven. A great guideline would be to take away about 20 % from the standard cooking in the suggested minutes when utilizing a typical range. So, if your frozen food products requires forty minutes of cooking, reduce the amount of minutes to around thirty- two. Other small changes might be needed otherwise food will emerge from the oven overcooked.

Toaster ovens are handy and also the Breville BOV650XL Smart Oven is definitely much better than the typical. It will help in order to save energy when in comparison to some large kitchen oven also it prepares food superbly and rapidly. Yes, it is a bit more than other toaster ovens but the standard is definitely well worth the cost.

Before Time passes into particulars, first allow me to state that this became one of my very favorite kitchen small home appliances! In my opinion that after I decide to buy a little appliance, I ought to purchase the one Personally i think to be the greatest and so i don’t be sorry afterwards. So, yes, I’ve spent more income than I needed to but, simultaneously, I’ve been not been disappointed with one of these outstanding home appliances.

Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ

To date, everything I’ve created using this toaster/convection oven has switched out perfectly. I fight to think about this like a toaster oven, because it is a lot more. I understand I’m able to prepare family size roasts inside it quickly and easily. The function configurations are Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Broil, Pizza, Snacks, Reheat, and Warm. I do not think it is possible that there’s even one which I will not use. I’ve had this excellent oven for just 4 days and I have tried personally Toast and Bake several occasions and Broil, Pizza, Snacks and Warm at least one time.

I truly appreciate the truth that the timer could be established to 2 hrs (some toaster ovens could be looking for only half an hour) which in the finish from the timed cycle, it instantly turns off. I understand will be able to sometimes become very distracted when planning dinner and may easily forget to seal the oven off the moment I ought to.

So far as the inability to use aluminum foil and glass pans, I approached the organization plus they stated both were allowable with a few safeguards. Aluminum foil must never touch the quarta movement heating elements plus using an excessive amount of foil within the oven may cause getting too hot and glass pans mustn’t be utilized should you intend on cooking with abnormally high temps, for example when broiling. I intend on being careful with both however i don’t view this as being an issue. So far as I understand, they are really limitations of all or all toaster ovens because of the more compact size and greater warmth levels, but rarely pointed out.

The controls are intuitive and i believe, generally, this oven may be used without mentioning towards the manual. It really is a “no-brainer”. I’ve read other testers mentioning the knobs aren’t as substantial as they want but in my experience, this isn’t an problem. I truly have no idea how weighty they’re (or aren’t) however they work well and appear good, so that’s really all I worry about.

This oven is simple to wash, especially since use spray cleansers. You need to spray your cleaning sponge or cloth and never spray into the oven but that actually works all right. I really like the truth that the crumb tray, which easily pulls out of the front from the oven, may be the entire bottom from the oven.

The electrical plug, of other nutritional foods, is another bonus! It features a large hole in the centre to place your finger to assist take it out of the opening. This appears minor but is way better than needing to “wiggle” a good-fitting 3-prong grounded plug to take it out of the wall. This is actually focus on detail! The cord is short (for safety reasons) but works acceptable for me. However, in case your outlet isn’t easily situated, I’ve discovered within the home improvement store electrical cords which have 3-prong grounded shops and therefore are ranked for major home appliances.

The main one minor problem I’d was after i broiled some meats, your kitchen full of smoke. But I am certain was my error and subsequently time, I’ll place the rack one notch further in the heating elements. It most likely could have been okay when they were 1″ thick or less however these somewhat thick meats and barely fit underneath the elements. But, regardless of the smoke, the meats were juicy and scrumptious and also the oven was a simple clean-up.

The Only Real complaint I’m able to think about (and this is actually minor) is the fact that there’s no interior light. I had been conscious of this after i bought it and that i now have a small torch alongside from the oven. This is not really necessary but I enjoy have the ability to have a look at what I am cooking.

I designed a frozen pizza and my hubby really LOVED it (he usually HATES frozen pizza) because it arrived on the scene tender and crispy, the cheese wasn’t burned.

I made toast also it was evenly browned on sides (with, obviously, inevitable power grid marks at the base) having a wonderful crispy texture and great taste.

I additionally made baked taters that have been plump and superbly cooked inside having a nice crisp skin around the outdoors, unlike some I’ve prepared during my regular oven that grew to become shrunken and difficult.

I additionally designed a frozen dinner (not really a great accomplishment, I understand) however i used the convection feature and decreased the suggested temperature by 25 levels and didn’t bake it any more than instructed also it arrived on the scene fully cooked using the gravy for that Salisbury steak bubbling. Therefore the convection feature does indeed work–and incredibly nicely, I’d say–it’s so quiet!

And also the last factor I made would be a batch of snacks. These were super large and that i upped the preset time by two minutes plus they arrived on the scene PERFECT!

To conclude, I’m happy with this particular purchase and when I’d it to complete over, I’d purchase it again without hesitation. It was perfectly considered, both technically and cosmetically, and will certainly be an resource to the kitchen. So please feel free, Have It!!!

Like everyone reading through these reviews I’d questions, particularly when an item is under 1/6 th the price of another.
Locating the Empire King just for over $1,000, and reading through the rave reviews, even evaluating it towards the Tempur-Pedic GrandBed , appeared too good to be real, and that i wondered maybe many of these reviews were just Empire sales staff moving the merchandise. I’d a couple of questions regarding the Empire Grand King also it would be a Sunday, and so i dropped an e-mail looking to have your call answered the next week. Low and behold, I quickly received an answer for Tony. We reside in another age, and so i know Tony might be a one guy show having a warehouse shipping in foam beds from China. But, the truth is exactly the same could almost be true concerning the Tempur-Pedic beds, having a couple of more and more people around the staff. Beds are just like jewellery, they’re marked up 100% or even more at retail. This is the world we reside in today, enjoy it or otherwise. Used to do such as the prompt response from Tony, and so i purchased the Grand King Empire. I’d a shipping conformation the following day.

Four days later I discovered a 131 lb plastic wrapped roll, just like a large carpet, inside my door. Nobody was around, and so i battled setting it up up two flight of stairs myself. Drawn my old bed mattress off and dropped around the new. It gradually began to re-inflate within the next couple of hrs. I am penning this review on the very next day, so I have only rested onto it one evening, but here’s my primary impression.

After reading through all of the review comments about modifying into it, I kind of understood what to anticipate. It will feel just a little firmer compared to Tempur-Pedic GrandBed, a minimum of initially, maybe it’ll soften. It felt strange and incredibly firm in comparison towards the sagging foam bed mattress I’d engrossed in a lower filled bed mattress pad. I awoke one half dozen occasions simply because it felt so dissimilar to my body system. Because the sun was approaching, so that as I lay half asleep, I felt like I had been floating. I possibly could feel no pressure points. The temperature was very comfortable and uniform, without having the spots I’d resting on the lower bed mattress pad. I had been concerned about it being too hot. I did not want to get away from mattress, and so i just layer there for some time taking pleasure in the relaxing comfort. I had been also expecting to possess a real back pain from battling using the bed mattress earlier, however i did not. And, it had not been just me. I viewed, and my Sharpei dog, who’ll normally jump up to the feet from the mattress, after i retire for the night, and can only stay for fifteen minutes before he jumps down again and dates back to their own mattress. Today the very first time he was still being lounging there in the feet from the mattress cutting logs, I’d another opinion saying yes with my primary findings. :> I believe I might have to buy him their own dog foam mattress if I wish to eliminate him.

Anyway…that’s my estimation, and I am not really a bed mattress salesperson penning this. Searching toward going to sleep tonight having a bestseller, and i believe enhanced comfort level is only going to improve as time passes. If my primary impression changes I’ll inform you.
